I agree to volunteer according to this waiver for the 2024 NC Folk Fest (“the Festival”) to be held in Greensboro, North Carolina beginning with set-up activities August 23, 2024, and ending with tear-down activities through September 30, 2024, with exact Festival dates beginning September 6, 2024 and ending September 8, 2024.
I do hereby, for myself, my successors, heirs, and assigns, full and completely RELEASE and HOLD HARMLESS North Carolina Folk Festival, and The City of Greensboro, all producing partners, sponsors and affiliates for the North Carolina Folk Festival and their officers, servants, agents, and employees from any and all damages, injuries, losses, liability, claims, causes of action, demands and actions, including but not limited to those for personal injury, sickness or death, as well as property damage and expenses, that I may sustain, directly or indirectly, as a result of, or while volunteering for the Festival. I am aware that volunteering at the Festival may carry with it inherent risks of transmission and exposure to illness such as flu and COVID virus that cannot be entirely eliminated, and my release and waiver includes, without limitation, any risk of illness, death, loss or damage which arises from my volunteering at the Festival. I do hereby voluntarily assume all risks, known and unknown, from volunteering for the Festival.
I understand that the North Carolina Folk Festival does not provide compensation, except as otherwise provided by law and that a volunteer does not have the status or benefits of an employee.
I give my permission to North Carolina Folk Festival to use, without limitation or obligation, photographs, film footage or tape recordings which may include the Volunteer’s image or voice for purposes of promoting the North Carolina Folk Festival.

I am the parent or legal guardian of the Volunteer. I have been informed of the activities in which the Volunteer may be engaged in connection with the 2024 NC Folk Fest in Greensboro (“the Festival”). The Volunteer is physically and mentally qualified to participate in these events and I understand that the weather and ground conditions may be hazardous. On the Volunteer’s behalf, I give my consent for his/her working as a volunteer at the Festival without compensation. On behalf of the Volunteer, myself, and anyone who may claim through the Volunteer, I hereby release North Carolina Folk Festival, and The City of Greensboro (including its employees, directors, and other volunteers), and its sponsors and coordinators, or their successors, collectively “the Releasees,” from: (1) all claims of damages, demands, actions, and causes of action whatsoever in any manner arising or growing out of the Volunteer’s participation in the Festival including but not limited to those for personal injury, sickness or death; and (2) claims related to any loss or theft of property of the Volunteer or the property of others as a result of the Volunteer’s involvement in the Festival. I am aware that volunteering at the Festival may carry with it inherent risks of transmission and exposure to illness such as flu and COVID virus that cannot be entirely eliminated, and my release and waiver includes, without limitation, any risk of illness, death, loss or damage which arises from my volunteering at the Festival.
